Your software relies on a good and stable internet connection to work seamlessly. The Network Error
is a very common issue as the network and connectivity is composed of many layers and any layer can fail the connection/network. Here are common causes and their possible solutions.
ISPs Issue
Internet Service Providers generally updates their infrastructures to handle the increasing needs of customers and enforce more security rules on a regular basis. This can sometimes result in a very high connection time due to DNS resolution and other checks. If a request takes too long to respond, the browsers will automatically close the connection.
Identification
This error generally affects all connections (including login) with our infrastructure so none of the modules will work. The requests will generally take too long, and you will continue seeing spinners and finally you will see the "Network Error" notification on your dashboard.
Possible Fix
Try switching to a different internet service provider temporary e.g., from JIO to Airtel.
Request Errors
In your dashboard, you will normally send data to Sembark servers for storage (e.g., supplier contracting, query creation, quotation, hotel booking etc.). All these data/requests get validated on server before storage. Sometimes, the validation fails, and you might get a "Network Error".
Identification
When submitting a form or uploading files, you are getting "Network Error" notification on your dashboard.
Possible Fix
Please check that your data/files follow the correct format and have valid fields.
Unstable Connectivity
This is a very common problem in remote and hilly areas where connectivity is not stable (network comes and goes). This can also happen due to some government regulation and restriction on ISPs in some areas.
Identification
The unstable connectivity will generally cause "Network Error" notifications in-between your software usage. Most of the time your work will not be interrupted, and you can continue using the software. But it may result in data inconsistencies.
Possible Fix
Please contact with your ISPs and ensure that you have stable connection throughout the software usage.
Error on Specific Pages
Sometimes, there might be issues with some specific pages which can results in a "Network Error" on load.
Identification
This error generally affects specific pages. The requests will generally take too long, and you will continue seeing spinners and finally you will see the "Network Error" notification on your dashboard.
Possible Fix
This issue can either be cause by a connection failure or a server failure. Here are some possible solutions:
- Refresh the page.
- Retry the page load when your team members are not active (early morning, before lunch etc.)
- Contact Us.
No-connectivity or Offline
This is a very rare case when you are using the software without network connection.
Identification
The whole software UI be greyed out (all grey, no other colors). You will get network error on all pages.
Possible Fix
Please connect to a good and stable internet connection to use the software.
